The Quality Score Makes Big Difference In Ad Rank

Quality Score is how Google grades the relevancy of keywords and ads in your AdWords account. It’s reported on a scale of 1-10, from awful to amazing. As you know, Google only gets paid if someone clicks on the placed ads, so as part of maximizing its profit it only places the most relevant ad on the top  of the SERP.  In the image below, one can clearly figure out how an Ad Rank is determined by using Max CPC  bid and the Quality score of that keyword.

One thing to note that Google only charges $0.01 more than the bid required to overcome your competitor.
